Uncle Shoehorn's Big Easy Brings NOLA Funk to Rochester Fringe Fest

A Shoehorn show takes listeners on a rollicking journey through their musical homeland including selections from all notable US regions. From New Orleans funk selections from the Meters, Neville Brothers, Dr. John, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Trombone Shorty, Galactic and Allen Toussaint, to roots blues music including Mississippi Delta-style blues from Robert Johnson, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters and Chicago blues from the likes of Butterfield Blues Band, Son Seals, Magic Sam, Little Milton, to Texas blues from Delbert McClinton, Albert Collins and Freddie King.
Uncle Shoehorn also proudly performs Motown’s classic soul, rhythm & blues from artists like James Brown, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, The Commodores, Billy Preston, Sam & Dave, Sly & The Family Stone, Etta James. Even the “Blue Eyed Soul” of Van Morrison and many others
