Chamber IMPACT: Paychex Junior Achievement Discovery Center

Wednesday, March 27, 2024 (8:30 AM - 2:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join us for a transformative experience at our Chamber IMPACT volunteer session on March 27th, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, at the Paychex Junior Achievement Discovery Center. This event offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world economic scenarios through the JA BizTown experience.

As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in guiding fourth through sixth grade students through hands-on workplace, business, and personal finance challenges within a simulated city. The JA BizTown experience empowers students to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, fostering a deeper understanding of how our economy works.

Here's what you can expect on March 27th:

  • 8:30 a.m. - Volunteer Welcome & Training
  • 9:30 a.m. - Student Arrival
  • 9:45 a.m. - Business Start-Up
  • 10:30 a.m. - Opening Town Meeting
  • 10:45 a.m. - Staff Meetings

  • 1:30 p.m. - Closing Town Meeting
  • 1:45 p.m. - Student Dismissal/Volunteer Debrief

To ensure a successful experience, volunteers are required to complete online training before the JA BizTown visit. Additionally, early arrival on simulation day provides hands-on instruction and will prepare you prior to the students’ arrival.
